DJI Osmo Mobile 8P Standard Combo Black
The Osmo Mobile 8P is DJI’s 8th generation, 3-axis smartphone stabilizer . It folds into a compact unit with a tripod, extendable arm, and battery already integrated—nothing to assemble or carry separately. What sets it apart from other gimbals is the included Osmo FrameTap remote, which lets you record and reframe shots from a distance without touching your phone. Compatible with iPhone and Android.
Intelligent tracking that doesn’t lose the subject even in crowds
The ActiveTrack 8.0 system actively tracks the subject while the gimbal rotates to keep it in frame, even with people moving in the background. The gimbal handles the tracking itself, without relying on the phone’s processor. For iPhone users, there’s an additional workflow-changing feature: Apple DockKit compatibility allows tracking to work directly within the system’s native camera app or in FaceTime, without opening DJI Mimo. You can record with the app you already use, and the gimbal will automatically rotate to keep the subject in frame. DJI Mimo is still required to access the gimbal’s creative modes and advanced settings. One important point: in crowded, low-light scenes, tracking effectiveness also depends on the contrast between the subject and the background.
The FrameTap remote: record and frame from a distance without touching your phone.
The Osmo FrameTap is a standalone remote control included with this Standard Combo; it’s not a separate accessory. You can start and stop recording and adjust the framing without having to get close to your phone—useful for selfies with the rear camera, solo recordings, or when your phone is at an angle that’s difficult to reach. It connects via Bluetooth, so the range is practically limited for indoor use or short distances; it’s not suitable for long-distance control.
All integrated: tripod, extension arm and battery for a full day
The split-design tripod extends from the gimbal’s legs when unfolded: there’s nothing to screw on or store separately. With a 97mm extended radius, it’s more stable than previous generations, though it takes up more pocket space than a folded conventional tripod. The 215mm extendable arm adds distance to the shot without the need for a separate selfie stick. The battery lasts for approximately 10 hours , and the gimbal charges your phone via USB-C while you record, preventing you from running out of power during long sessions. Before buying, check that your phone with a case doesn’t exceed 300g: that’s the gimbal’s payload limit, and thick cases or bulky phones will approach or exceed that weight.

How long does the battery last on the DJI Osmo Mobile 8P?
The 3350 mAh battery offers approximately 10 hours of use. Additionally, the gimbal can simultaneously charge your phone via its USB-C port, preventing you from running out of battery during long recording sessions.
What’s included in the DJI Osmo Mobile 8P Standard Combo box?
Includes gimbal, DJI OM Magnetic Phone Clamp 5, Osmo FrameTap controller, USB-C to USB-C power cable (50 cm), USB-C to USB-C phone charging cable (15 cm), storage bag and documentation.
Is the DJI Osmo Mobile 8P compatible with iPhone and Android?
Yes, it’s compatible with both systems. On iPhone, tracking also works via Apple DockKit directly in the native camera app or FaceTime. On Android, tracking is managed through the DJI Mimo app.
What is the weight limit for the phone that the DJI Osmo Mobile 8P supports?
The maximum load capacity is 300g. It’s advisable to weigh your phone with the case you’re going to use, as larger models with thick cases may approach or exceed that limit, which would prevent the gimbal from being properly balanced.
