About the Thomson Go Cast 150

4K playback at 60 fps with HDR10 , Dolby Atmos audio , and the AV1 hardware codec are supported by the Amlogic S905Y4 chipset (4× Cortex-A35 @ 2 GHz) with 2 GB of RAM and 8 GB eMMC to run Google TV smoothly. Its dongle-style design with built-in HDMI, 2×2 Wi-Fi ac , and voice control turns any TV into a streaming center in seconds.

Optimized image and sound

Native HDR10 and AV1 support reduces bandwidth while maintaining sharpness, while the MS12 codec unleashes Dolby Atmos for bars and receivers, bringing depth to the commercial room.

Balanced hardware

The quad-core processor and Mali-G31 GPU support smooth 4K streaming and menus; 8GB lets you install basic apps, and OTA updates keep your system up to date with low power consumption (max 5W).

Connectivity and control

Dual-band ac Wi-Fi , Bluetooth 5.0, and a 5V/1A micro-USB power supply make it easy to install, even behind your TV. The Bluetooth remote control integrates Google Assistant, hotkeys, and the Live TV button for quick TV streaming.

Plug & play installation

Insert the SIM-HDMI, connect with the included adapter and follow the startup wizard; Google Cast built-in lets you send mobile content without noticeable latency.

Our expert’s opinion

The Thomson Go Cast 150 is the natural successor to the Chromecast with Google TV 4K: it maintains the same RAM and storage, adds AV1—which the Chromecast lacks—and maintains its compact form factor. Compared to the Fire TV Stick 4K Max , it has the same resolution and Atmos, but dispenses with Wi-Fi 6 and maintains 8 GB of storage, in exchange for lower power consumption and the Google TV interface without Amazon’s bloatware. Compared to the  Xiaomi TV Stick 4K , it shares the same memory but offers AV1 and a more comprehensive remote control. Compared to Thomson’s previous Streaming Box 270, the Go Cast reduces the size by 70%, maintains Atmos, and lowers the access price. In short, the  Thomson Go Cast 150 stands out for its AV1 compatibility and ease of use. The only drawback is limited storage for those who install a lot of games, but this doesn’t compromise a very balanced quality/performance ratio.
